Ylämaa Gem Museum

The Ylämaa Gem Museum has over hundred metres of glass cabinets full of gems. As well as the precious gems such as diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald and many other famous gems like topaz, opal, the display also contains samples of the spectrolite that Ylämaa is famous for. Other significant displays are of stone jewels and the many different kinds of granite that exists in Ylämaa region. The exhibition presents over four thousand pieces of gem, mineral and fossils from all over the world. The specialities of the museum are genuine fossils of dinosaur and mammoth, and different types of meteorite.
