Sipoonkorpi National Park

Sipoonkorpi National Park is located in southern Finland, just northeast of Helsinki, near the cities of Vantaa and Sipoo. It is one of the few large connected forest areas remaining close to the Helsinki metropolitan area. The park provides a habitat for nearly a hundred endangered and near-threatened species. The heritage landscape and the forests surrounding the Byabäcken River Valley lie at the northeastern edge of Sipoonkorpi.

The woodlands of Sipoonkorpi are nestled among rolling fields and picturesque villages, offering peaceful surroundings within easy reach of the Finnish capital. Especially in late summer and autumn, the area becomes a green haven for urban dwellers, who come to gather wild mushrooms and berries.

Sipoonkorpi features a rich variety of forest types, mires, and cultural landscapes. Although there are only a few lakes, the terrain is highly diverse, with notable changes in altitude, open cliffs, spruce mires, and small bogs. All these elements give Sipoonkorpi a distinctive character of varied and compact natural features.
