Hunting Museum of Finland

The museum’s permanent exhibition provides a view of the ten-thousand-year history of hunting in Finland – its path of evolution from hunting as a living to hunting as a hobby. The exhibition features a Stone Age hunter’s camp, a wild reindeer hunt, fur trading and seal hunting, and much more.

The museum also displays a variety of hunting tackle from the Stone Age to modern times. A separate unit is formed by hunting firearms, from muzzle-loading flintlocks to modern hunting rifles. The museum’s permanent exhibition also covers ritual objects associated with hunting. Finland’s main game animals are also featured.

The Sako hall has a display of the Finnish arms industry’s output covering the entire 20th century.

The Safari room has a display of exotic trophies from other continents.
