Hallan tupa – Farmhouse and museum village

The twelve buildings in this museum village situated next to Hankasalmi church provide a full picture of how people lived in the 19th century. The centrepiece of the museum village is a traditional farmhouse, Hallan tupa, with its spacious yard. It is ideally suited for weddings and family celebrations in winter, too. Hallan tupa has room for 200 diners and is equipped with a professional kitchen. The yard features Finland’s largest ‘savupirtti’ – a chimneyless hut. Roughly 2 000 musem artefacts on display in the old granary.
