Best of Helsinki – Guided Architecture Tour

Helsinki is known for its unconventional architecture and a great variety of architectural styles. Our walk will take you through all the different historic periods of Finland and their architectural representations. The tour will begin with the Russian Empire style in the Senate square, travelling through time in chronological order, through to the modern day architecture in Kamppi. This aesthetically pleasing experience will be a great way to see and understand some of the 30+ styles of architecture that Helsinki has to offer.

This is a public walking tour meaning that anyone is welcome to join. We also ask everyone who is willing to join the tour to make a reservation in advance on our website. The group size for this walkng tour is limited to 10 people which guarantees a great and personalised experience to everyone! We also kindly ask the groups of 4 and more people to inquire about the private architecture tours so that we can give an opportunity to single travellers and couples to join us.

What do I need to bring?
Warm clothing and decent shoes are advised for walking in all weathers. A general level of fitness is recommended as the tour is mainly walking for the whole 3 hours. If you have any special requirements, then please contact us prior to booking.

Meeting points
You can start this activity at the following places.
The tour will start at the platform on the steps (to the right hand side) of the Helsinki cathedral. You can see this when you stand and look up at the cathedral from the senate square. Our guide will be holding up a sign saying ‘Architecture Tour’
