Magic Moments with Reindeer

A winter holiday in Lapland would not be complete without meeting real reindeer. In Pyhä, families can choose between two reindeer farm experiences that offer both learning and enchantment. At the farms children can feed the animals and hear stories of traditional reindeer herding before stepping into a sleigh for a peaceful glide through the snowy forest. Another farm adventure takes families deeper into nature, where storytelling by the fire and quiet landscapes create a truly magical atmosphere.

Husky Safaris and Joyful Encounters with Arctic Dogs

In the Pyhä–Luosto region, two husky farms welcome families to meet enthusiastic sled dogs and head into the wilderness together. Lapland Husky Safaris is just a ten-minute drive from both Pyhä and Luosto, perfectly located for short introductory rides as well as longer tours where the scenery opens wide and wild. Pyhä Husky Farm sits close to Pyhä Ski Resort, around seven kilometers from Pyhätunturi and twenty-five kilometers from Luosto making it incredibly easy to combine skiing and a husky adventure in the same day. Children love the energy of the dogs and the excitement as the sleigh starts moving across the snowy trails.

Winter Fun Around Pyhä-Luosto National Park

There is always something new to try. Snowshoeing offers a playful way to explore winter nature, and the cross-country skiing trails stretch far into Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Snowmobile rides bring fast-paced adventure, while ice fishing and toboggan runs slow the day down to simple joy. When the sky darkens, families often head out again to look for the Northern Lights, which frequently appear above Pyhä on clear nights. Even a short walk away from the village lights can reveal a sky full of glowing color.

The national park begins right outside the door, so nature is never far away whether you want a quiet morning walk in the fresh air or a snowy view to admire with your first cup of cocoa.

We left Pyhä with rosy cheeks, happy children, and a suitcase full of new memories. Families love Pyhä because the resort is compact, safe, and filled with friendly local culture. It offers the perfect balance between playful winter excitement and peaceful evenings together. Teaching a child to ski, hearing reindeer bells in the forest, or feeling the power of huskies racing through fresh snow and these are the experiences that stay with you.
