I first tasted ramen in Japan 25 years ago and fell in love with it immediately. However, traditional Japanese ramen culture felt a little too conventional for my personal taste.

After moving to Hawaii, I discovered just how versatile ramen could be. The islands’ food culture brings together Japanese, Chinese, Filipino and Vietnamese influences. I wanted to bring that same curiosity, openness and diversity to Aloha Ramen.
