Whatever the season, a visit to Tourist Centre Karhuntassu will be well worth your while. Found under the same roof are Kuusamo Info, Central Booking FinFun Ruka, Metsähallitus Nature Services Customer Service Point, Hannu Hautala Nature Photography Centre and café and Ruka-Kuusamo Tourist Association.

Outside the Karhuntassu building are notice boards presenting general and route maps for the Kuusamo area, a spacious parking lot, a playground for children in the rear courtyard, and a monument erected in honour of the WWII 3rd Army Corps.
