The Miekankoski Museum of Log Floating

The Miekankoski Museum of Log Floating is located in authentic log-driving surroundings at Miekankoski, about 10 km from downtown Mäntyharju.

The exhibition in the warehouse has an extensive collection of items and photographs related to log-driving. There are boats, a model of a capstan used for towing timber rafts and photographs from various stages of log-driving and tugboats.

In the Treaty of Turku in 1743, the border of Sweden and Russia was defined as running through Miekankoski. Miekankoski has a monument to the Treaty of Turku (1743). The yard of the log-driving base also has a café and a gift shop. Miekankoski is a well-known rapids fishing location and the café sells fishing licenses.
