Tervo Church

Tervo church was completed in autumn 1925. The construction of the church was led by a master builder Martti Pasanen, from Kuopio.

The church is made of red brick, partly plastered. It is a short-edged cruciform church, its shell extends a semi-circular shaped apse.

The style of the church represents the historicism existed in Finland in the the 1920s. Asymmetrical layout and decorative paintings are referring to National Romanticism. The church is also reflected in the Romanesque and Gothic styles, and it has classical style columns and pilasters.
