Discover Löyly: Helsinki’s Seaside Sauna & Summer Restaurant Experience
When summer arrives in Helsinki, there’s no better place to enjoy it than Löyly – a one-of-a-kind sauna and restaurant by the Baltic Sea, just 10 minutes from the city center. Named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Greatest Places, Löyly is a summer must, where the sun shines on the terrace, the grill is hot, and the saunas are always warm.
Sun-Drenched Terrace Dining by the Baltic Sea
From May 18 to the end of August, Löyly transforms into one of Helsinki’s most vibrant outdoor dining spots. With a relaxed self-service concept, you’re free to walk in, order from the bar, and choose your perfect seat—whether it’s under the sun on the large wooden terrace or inside the bright, open-view dining room.
The All Day Menu features beloved Finnish comfort dishes with a modern touch: the iconic Löyly Burger, creamy salmon soup by Jasper Pääkkönen, and seasonal favourites crafted with local ingredients. Pair your meal with a glass of wine or a refreshing cocktail, and soak up the sea breeze.
A True Nordic Ritual: Sauna, Sea & Relaxation
Löyly’s public saunas are a modern take on Finland’s most treasured tradition. You’ll find three wood-heated saunas, including a classic smoke sauna, all with direct access to the sea for year-round swims.
After your steam session, unwind in the lounge and enjoy light bites from the dedicated sauna menu – perfect for post-sauna hunger. Towels, seat covers, and eco-friendly toiletries are included, and swimsuits can be rented on site. Saunas are mixed-gender and swimsuit-friendly, with separate changing rooms. Reservations are recommended during summer.
Seasonal Shift: Cozy Comforts for Autumn and Winter
When the summer season winds down, Löyly continues to offer memorable moments indoors. From weekday lunches and à la carte dinners to the popular Saturday brunch, the experience remains rooted in quality, comfort, and warm hospitality—this time with candlelight and the glow of the indoor fireplace.
Built for the Future: Sustainable Design, Iconic Architecture
More than just a destination, Löyly is a symbol of sustainable Finnish design. Built from FSC-certified wood, the sculptural wooden building wraps around the saunas and restaurant like a protective cloak – offering shade, privacy, and stunning sea views from inside.
Designed by Avanto Architects and furnished with natural materials, every detail of Löyly reflects a commitment to environmental responsibility. From its energy-efficient design to its locally focused kitchen, Löyly leads by example in both architecture and ethics.
This summer, experience Helsinki like a local: sauna, swim, and dine by the sea at Löyly. No reservations needed – just show up, find a sunny seat, and enjoy the season.
