Lapinlahti Art Museum
The key words for Lapinlahti Art Museum’s exhibition programme are regionality and current art. The collaborative exhibitions for children and youth with the Lastu Culture Centre for Children also play a central role in the programme. In addition to the permanent exhibition of works by the Halonen artist family, the museum has approximately 10 temporary exhibitions each year.
The Lapinlahti Art Museum’s summer exhibitions have been nationally recognised in the Finnish art world. The exhibitions have varied from the Finnish Golden Age master’s paintings to children’s book illustrations.
The museum building was completed in 1976. It is designed by architects Esa Koivuniemi and Georg Bystroff. The museum is wheelchair accessible.
