Helsinki Central Library Oodi is a modern and vibrant meeting place located at Kansalaistori Square, right in the heart of Helsinki. Oodi is part of Helsinki City Library and the Helmet library network, but it is much more than a traditional library – it is an open, non-commercial public space where everyone is welcome to spend time, work, attend events and experience urban culture.

Oodi enjoys a unique location directly opposite the Finnish Parliament. Together with the Helsinki Music Centre, Finlandia Hall, Sanomatalo and the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, it forms part of one of Helsinki’s most important cultural and media districts.

Oodi hosts a wide variety of events and offers several spaces suitable for different occasions. Located on the first floor near the main entrance, Maijansali Hall is an impressive multipurpose venue ideal for lectures, conferences, workshops, performances, product launches, large dinners and cocktail events. The hall also includes a backstage area of approximately 30 square metres.

Also on the first floor is Kino Regina, a 250-seat cinema and auditorium-style event venue. It is an excellent setting for film screenings, lectures and other public events. Apart from the seating area, the venue is accessible, and a fixed induction loop is available.

Oodi’s Pop-up Area provides a visible space for organisations, associations and non-profit operators to present their activities and services. It is located on the first floor near the main entrance and information desk. Various movable furnishings and electricity can be provided, as well as a display screen by prior arrangement.

In addition, Oodi offers numerous smaller spaces for working, meetings and a variety of activities. With its diverse services, striking architecture and central location, Oodi is one of Helsinki’s most fascinating destinations for both local residents and visitors.
