The Church of St. Michael – Keminmaa
St. Michael’s Church is located on the banks of the Kemijoki River in Keminmaa. The Church is one of the oldest churches in Finland. Completed in 1553, the church was originally a Catholic church, reminiscent of the paintings on the roof and walls of the church, as well as statues of saints adorning the walls. Inside the church you can see the mummified body of a vicar of the church from the early times; vicar Nikolaus Rungius died in 1629 with a specific message before his death.
