The villas and setting
WALD Villas are modern Nordic log cabins designed for travellers who value simplicity without compromise. Each villa is identical in design and carefully placed in nature to ensure privacy. Large windows open directly to the surrounding forest, bringing the outside in, whether it’s snow-covered trees, northern lights, autumn colours or the midnight sun.
Set in Aavasaksa, one of Finland’s national landscapes, the villas are part of the Tornio River valley, where Finland and Sweden meet. The region is known for its open landscapes, authentic local culture and a calmer rhythm than the more visited destinations in Lapland.
The experience
A stay at WALD Villas is about slowing down. There is no fixed way to spend your time. You might start your morning in silence, watch the light change through the trees, or end the day in your private sauna. Nearby experiences can be arranged, but the essence of the stay is the freedom to choose your own pace.

Location
WALD Villas are located in the Original Lapland region, in the Tornio River valley in Aavasaksa (Ylitornio), close to the Swedish border. The night train comes from Helsinki directly to Ylitornio, and around 1.5 hours from Rovaniemi, the villas are easily accessible by car.
