Ypäjä Church
Ypäjä church is a wooden, national-romantic style, Art Nouveau church. The church was built in 1901-1902 and it was consecrated on 30 November 1902.
The church was designed by architect Heikki Helin with the assistance of Professor Usko Nyström. The main altarpiece is “Christ on the Cross”, painted by Gabriel Sweidel in 1811. Also to be seen in the church are a scale model of the old Ypäjä church built in the 1560s, an altarpiece from the old church painted by Joonas Bergman in 1749, a crucifix believed to be from the 19th century, and church bells dating back to 1765 and 1768.
