Karljohan prepares classics and traditional dishes with great heart. The house vorschmack, slow-cooked beef brisket, sweetbread and other offal dishes have found a loyal following over the years.
The daily changing lunch menu of 10–12 dishes may include, for example, tirripaisti — a Savonian pork sauce — old-fashioned dill meat or lamb and cabbage stew. The menu also always includes the fish, meat and offal of the day. Table reservations are not taken for lunch.
The cheerful lunchtime bustle turns into a cozy and unhurried atmosphere in the evening, when the restaurant opens its doors to dinner guests.
