Stundars Museum and Cultural Centre

Stundars was initiated in the late 1930s when the elementary teacher Gunnar Rosenholm founded a museum society in Solf. Today the museum area is managed by the Stundars association.

All of the museum buildings originate from nearby villages. Most of them were moved to Stundars in the 1960s and 1970s. Many were salvaged from demolition at the last minute. Together, they reflect life in Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia at the turn of the 20th century.

In the 1980s new buildings were added to the museum: Hemmersgården, some art studios and a printing museum. At Stundars, art, music and building conservation are year-round activities.
