Kainuu Museum

Kainuu Museum is the local provincial museum in the centre of town. The museum houses almost 19,500 artefacts related to local peasant traditions and culture. Kainuu Museum also has a large photography collection. The permanent exhibition presents the history and culture of Kainuu and is supported by thematic temporary exhibitions. The museum is open year round.
